TRAINING & DISCIPLESHIP SCHOOL OF COLOMBIA
We are very excited to announce the successful relaunch of the Training & Discipleship school in Colombia that is now a project of MANNA Worldwide. All nine students arrived by July 24th in order to start the four and half month semester. Three of the students are from the church in Orizaba, Mexico where we have been teaching missions for several years now. Scott had the privilege of picking them up at the airport in Bogotá. It is wonderful to see the vision of the Latin Initiative being fulfilled!
Throughout the years, we have seen how God uses this time in the hearts and lives of the students. Our son is an example of that. Chandler made crucial decisions while at the school in 2020 and, for this reason, he is preparing to become a missionary at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. We know that the Lord will lead these students to grow in their dependence on Him and their desire to follow Him anywhere.
Please pray for the students by name: Sara, Paulina, Sofia, Diana, Paula, Denise, Isamar, Felipe, and Samuel. Another important purpose of the school is the training of disciple-makers which is accomplished through the student-mentor program. All one-on-one discipleship is carried out by our student-mentors. As a result, we prayerfully select these leaders and we ask that you please pray for each one: Harold, Fernando, Angelica, and María Alejandra. Will you regularly pray for these students and mentors? Our prayer is that they will leave this time being more deeply committed to the Lord, to their churches, and to sharing the gospel in their communities and around the world.
Last month, a church from Kansas City, MO and one from Castle Rock, CO dedicated time and funds to go to Colombia and help us launch the school. Because of their desire to serve alongside the student-mentors, they were able to get the facilities ready for the arrival of the students. Thank you so much for your hard work!
