DISCOVERY WEEK
During the end of June through the beginning of July, public schools are on break which leaves a lot of children without anything to do. In 2019, I launched a program called Discovery Week. The idea was to have a safe place for kids to come during their break, participate in different activities, and learn about the bible. We were so excited to be able to do Discovery Week this year! We had 3 days of activities and 23 kids in attendance each day. Although we didn’t have any professions of faith, we know the seed was planted. We give thanks as we were able to connect with several new families within our community.
MANNA PROJECT On Thursday, July 8th, we officially launched our MANNA project in Bogotá! Our plan was to start last year, but had to postpone it due to lock downs. Our project consists of a before or after school program where the kids come to receive help with homework, a devotional, and a lunch. This past Sunday, two of our MANNA girls came to church! Please continue to pray for the children, the volunteers, and myself.
TEAM COLOMBIA Craig and Fran Lingo were the first Baptist Bible Fellowship International (BBFI) missionaries to Colombia and have faithfully served for 50 years. Craig had been battling cancer for a few years, came down with another illness, and on July 18th, God called him home. Craig has taught me so much over the years and I thank the Lord for the time I got to spend with him. Please be praying for Fran, their 3 adult children, the Colombian churches, and our team. We will greatly miss Craig, but there is still so much to be done here in the country of Colombia!
