TRAINING & DISCIPLESHIP SCHOOL OF COLOMBIA
The first semester has finished and the students have gone home. It’s always bittersweet to see them go because their classes and missions trip produce so much spiritual growth and many deep friendships with their classmates and mentors. On their missions trip, they ministered with churches and MANNA projects in Santa Marta and served a church among the Kogui Tribe of the Sierra Nevada. They were stretched and challenged to have a continual evangelistic and discipleship mindset.
Three churches visited the school during this semester and both fell in love with the ministry and have committed to partner with us in this endeavor. The total support they have promised is $1,600/month! We thank God and these churches for their support. We are so grateful to see more churches join MANNA in developing the next generation of gospel-driven servant-leaders from Latin America.
We continue the process of raising funds for this project. When the support of these churches begins, we will have $4,800/month of the needed $5,400/month. We just have a little bit more to raise. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with this exciting ministry?
Gifts can be sent through your local church or directly to MANNA, project # 76604 (mannaworldwide.com/cds).
THE LATIN INITIATIVE
Our ministry partners in Orizaba, Mexico love missions and try to take a missions trip every couple of years. This year they have partnered with MANNA to go to Cuba. Please pray for the group of 13 going to Cuba July 11-18. Scott will be leading this trip and they have a very busy schedule of hard work and training while there. We hope to see them inspired by the Cuban believers who remain steadfast in spite of difficult circumstances.
FAMILY NEWS
Our son, Chad, has been accepted at Mission University (formerly Baptist Bible College) and will being a church ministry degree with an emphasis on family ministry. He also committed to travel with MANNA’s Engage camps this summer. He has been involved in ministering to students all around the U.S. since the end of May. God has used this experience to confirm his love of working with children and youth. We can see God directing Chad into his future ministry. Please pray for him as he travels and then begins his ministry training. We are also grateful that he will be able to live at home and continue to minister at Berean Baptist Church in Bolivar, MO which has been our sending church since May 2000.
